CHANDLER, Ariz., September 12, 2024 — Microchip Technology (Nasdaq: MCHP) has received a Functional Safety certification from TÜV Rheinland®, an independent third-party testing and certification organization. With the functional safety package, hardware and system developers of safety-critical automotive and industrial applications can speed their time to compliance with IEC 61508 SIL 3 and ISO 26262 ASIL D standards with Microchip’s Libero® SoC Design Suite 2023.2 SP1, which can be utilized with PolarFire® FPGA and SoC families.
Microchip’s safety package includes design flows, supporting documentation and certifications to minimize risks for customers and reduce time to market. The functional safety package gives engineers a head start on completing the certification process with development tools and methodologies that have been pre-certified as adherent to industry safety standards.
